PUTRAJAYA - The Perikatan Nasional (PN) election machinery will provide transport services to voters on polling day, this Saturday.
PN candidate for the Putrajaya parliamentary constituency Datuk Mohd Radzi Md Jidin said the move was implemented as an alternative to make it easier for voters to cast their votes if it continued to rain that day.
The initiative, he said was also to ensure a high turnout.
"We want high percentage (of voter turnout) because we are confident that those who go out to vote will vote for PN," he said when met by reporters after observing those who vote early at the Putrajaya district police headquarters (IPD), here on Tuesday.
He said campaign in the final week will continue to be intensified.
"We will make sure that the machinery runs effectively to ensure that by night PN is announced as winner in Putrajaya," he said.
Radzi also called for Putrajaya voters to go out to vote first before returning to their hometowns for their spouses to cast their votes.
"I ask for the voters, especially in Putrajaya, if you want to go back to your spouses' hometwons for them to vote, please vote here first before you go," he said.
Radzi will face five other candidates including the four-term incumbent, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
