SHAH ALAM - PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is getting more ‘desperate’ that he accuses military personnel and their families of receiving bribes, says Bersatu man.
Bersatu Deputy President Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said this in response to Anwar Ibrahim’s accusation that military personnel has received RM300 to vote for a certain party during the preliminary postal voting for the military.
Faizal described the accusation as "one of the most irresponsible and malicious statements issued by any politician during the 15th General Election (GE15) campaign period”.
He said the accusation is insulting to the military force of the nation and there is no evidence shown by Anwar to support his claim.
"It is a reckless accusation, without foundation or evidence.
"There are 146,737 military voters and their spouses who are eligible to vote in GE15.
"Anwar has insulted and called them bribe takers,” he said in a statement.
He further said that the heroes who risk their lives to protect the nation should be praised, not insulted like what Anwar has done.
He also questioned Anwar’s readiness to withdraw his insults against the national military personnel and their families, as well as publicly apologise for it.
He added that this has shown how desperate Anwar has gotten since the party is getting less support from the people during the campaign period.
"Will this fairy tale about election corruption be used as an excuse to accuse the election of unfairness, if PH loses on Nov 19?” he added.
