SEREMBAN - A container truck driver died in an accident involving six vehicles at Kilometre 280 (southbound) of the North South Expressway here, this morning.
Nilai district police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the victim, identified as Muhammad Iqbal Kamarulzaman, 42, from Klang, Selangor, died at the scene due to severe body injuries.
He said also involved in the 11.35 am incident were a lorry, three cars and a motorcycle.
Six other individuals were injured and sent to hospital for treatment while two escaped unhurt
"It was found that the accident occurred when the truck was travelling from Seremban to Nilai.
"The truck was on the second lane from the left, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered into the opposite lane crashing into the oncoming vehicles," he said in a statement today.
He added that following the accident four lanes were closed which caused traffic congestion for about five kilometres. - BERNAMA
