SHAH ALAM - An employee of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) faces anxious moments after floodwaters began rising at his sister’s house in Klang this evening where his paralysed mother was staying.
Marfika Adnan Haris Fadzilah, 31, said he received a call from his younger sister informing him that the house in Taman Seri Puteri near here was hit by flash floods after a two-hour heavy downpour and that floodwaters had risen to 0.5 metres.
"I panicked as I had only completed covering the flood situation in Johan Setia. My first thought was to rush home to rescue my mother,” he said when contacted tonight.
He said upon reaching, he sought the help of his brother-in-law who managed to access the housing area with a lorry before evacuating his mother.
