"Rapid Rail, assisted by a special team of OEM from Toronto, Canada will find the long term and short-term solutions including testing the devices and softwares.

He said initial investigations found that there was a disturbance to the electronic components of the ATC which caused a loss of signal between the control centre and trains.

This, he said had caused the trains to not be able to operate automatically.

He said there were a few ATC components and trains that were almost reaching the end of its life cycle.

He said they had taken the decision to suspend the LRT services from Kelana Jaya to Ampang Park for seven days starting Wednesday after taking into account the safety of passengers, the time needed to identify the cause as well as the test for the services.

"The Kelana Jaya LRT services will only operate from the Gombak station to the Damai station as well as Lembah Subang station to the Putra Height LRT station.

"All Kelana Jaya LRT services will end its operations earlier at 11pm on Wednesday to Nov 15 to give the engineering team more time to carry out the repair work," he said.
