SHAH ALAM - All Kelana Jaya LRT line services will be terminated at 11pm tonight due to technical issues affecting 16 stops along the line.
Rapid KL in its official account on Twitter has encouraged passengers to use free feeder bus services up until 12am tonight to help the passengers reach their destinations.
Rapidrail Sdn Bhd said the service between the two stations was forced to stop for safety reasons after disturbance in the Automatic Train Control (ATC) system of the Route Kelana Jaya was first detected at 3.03 this afternoon.
As of 8.30 tonight, the intermediate train service from Gombak LRT Station to Damai LRT Station and from Ara Damansara LRT Station to Putra Heights LRT Station were running as usual.
In other stations, line remains close.
"Rapid Rail's engineering and technical team, assisted by the Thales Group at Canada, as an original equipment manufacturer or OEM, is actively conducting an investigation to identify the real cause of the disturbance.
"So far, what is known is that there is interference with electronic components of the automatic train control system or ATC that causes signal loss between control centre and train,” it said in a statement.
The problem is said to caused the trains not to be able to operate normally between Kelana Jaya LRT Station and Ampang Park LRT Station.
"We will inform the Kelana Jaya Line LRT service status from time to time to the public through social media channels and mass media.
"All the difficulties experienced by the passengers are caused by this disturbance and deeply regret and apologise for the travel disruption experienced by all RapidKL service users,” the statement said.
