BATU PAHAT - The 15th General Election (GE15) campaign in Ayer Hitam Parliament is tainted when over 200 Pakatan Harapan (PH) flags are claimed to be taken off and tossed into the ditch by irresponsible parties.
Ayer Hitam Parliament PH-DAP candidate Sheikh Omar Bagharib Ali through a post on his Facebook said he was informed of the incident when officers who set up the flags noticed it around 8am on Monday.
"We were disappointed with the attitude of these gangster in politics. We condemn those who use dirty as well as cheap tactics in elections.
"This attitude has tarnished the democracy that enabled political parties to have a healthy campaign and follow the laws set by the Election Commission (EC) as well as the authorities," he said.
The Johor DAP Deputy Chairman said the orders were given to Ayer Hitam PH Parliament officers not to retaliate outside the election laws.
"We will continue to fight and campaign following the correct etiquette.
"We will also continue to work hard towards ensuring PH's victory in the Ayer Hitam Parliamentary seat," he said.
Batu Pahat District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ismail Dollah when contacted on Tuesday said he had yet to receive a report regarding the incident.
Ayer Hitam Parliament witnessed the three-corner clash in GE15 involving its incumbent Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong from Barisan Nasional, Perikatan Nasional candidate Muhammad Syafiq A. Aziz and Omar.
In GE14, Wee won the Parliamentary seat with a thin majority of 303 votes.
