SHAH ALAM - Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today slams his opponent Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu for being weak and sluggish during his leadership as Perak chief minister.
Anwar stated that if everyone was concerned about DAP gaining control of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership, they should have asked Faizal how he became so weak and sluggish that others were taking over his leadership.
He said that he led with policies that have been agreed upon, such as matters of the people, the governor's transparency, the promotion of the national language, and the appreciation of Islam, so there were no disagreements.
"Like the Perak Pas chief Razman (Zakaria), I am not sure if he is an ‘ustaz’ or not,” he said in the video from his Facebook post regarding the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) claims made by Razman.
In the video, Anwar said the issue with these individuals was that they frequently use defamation but believe it was acceptable as long as they wear white ‘kopiah’.
He said Islamic scholars, such as Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi backed him for various reasons.
"They must have a reason after monitoring the conditions here, they are not like Pas’ ustaz, who insult people.
"They are different, and their notability is higher, and that's why the higher the knowledge (one has), the calmer and the wiser their observation.
The video of Razman had circulated on social media with him allegedly warned the public not to vote for PH as Anwar brought LGBT agenda in the country and would potentially approve same-sex marriage.
He also claimed that DAP brought communist ideology into the country.
Anwar would contest at the Tambun parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15), where he would see a four-cornered fight against incumbent MP Faizal, Tambun Umno division chief Datuk Aminuddin Md Hanafiah and Abdul Rahim Tahir from Pejuang.
In the last election, Faizal received 38,661 votes for PKR.
