KOTA BHARU - The government that governs the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is not based on Barisan Nasional (BN) but it is supported by Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said Ismail Sabri's government should be labelled as PN based on the majority owned by the party component.
"BN is a minority but PN which is made up of Pas, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is the majority," he said when asked to comment on the claim that Ismail Sabri's government belongs to BN.
He made the remarks at a press conference during a meeting of public figures here on Monday which was also attended by the Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.
Hadi said BN should have explained that the coalition government was PN.
He said this was because all parties played a role to support PN and it was not BN alone.
Meanwhile, Hadi praised the administration led by Ismail Sabri and former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who was described as a clean government because the two leaders had no wrongdoing.
He said the two individuals were the best prime ministers and Pas supported their leadership.
"The government of Ismail Sabri and Muhyiddin are clean and there were no wrongdoings.
"On the other hand, when BN ruled there was a lot of 'leakage' going on," he said.
