SHAH ALAM - There are a lot of issues that should be addressed in Shah Alam, especially on youths, says Barisan Nasional's Shah Alam candidate Isham Jalil.
"I want to fight for youth issues after Covid-19 pandemic where many of them lost their jobs which saw youth unemployment rate up to 14 per cent.
"Before Covid-19, unemployment rate within youths stood ay 400,000 and it went up to almost 700,000 and the number has not declined,” he told reporters earlier today.
Apart from the youth employment issues, he’s also planning on diving deeper into housing prices in the constituency where most of the house prices were higher than RM500,000.
Isham said the cost of the house at RM500,000 was on par if youth’s wages were RM11,000 and above.
"By default, my campaign for this elections is a positive campaign and I will inform you of everything I want to do.
"My focus is to solve issues, not to find someone to put the blame on,” he said.
Asked on contesting on opposition stronghold, he said as a politician, he can’t contest at ‘comfortable’ seats only and due to that took Shah Alam seat as a challenge.
Isham is in a four corner fight against Azli Yusof (PH), Rafique Rashid (Pejuang), and Dr Afif Bahardin (Perikatan Nasional).
