PUTRAJAYA – Nearly two decades after its inception, the Putrajaya parliamentary seat recorded the highest number of candidates for the 15th General Election (GE15).
The six-cornered fight will see Barisan Nasional (BN), Perikatan Nasional (PN), Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Gabungan Tanah Air (GTA) - who will be contesting under the Pejuang ticket, as well as two independent candidates.
Incumbent Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor will defend his seat under BN and will be up against former Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin (PN), Dr Noraishah Mydin Abdul Aziz (PH) and Mohd Rosli Ramli (Pejuang).
The two independent candidates are Lim Fice Bee and Samsudin Mohamad Fauzi.
Election Commission Putrajaya returning officer Shamsul Joehari Zainal Mokhtar confirmed the candidates 10.50 a.m. after he was satisfied and checked all the nomination forms.
"No candidates were denied nomination,” he said after completing the candidate naming process at Dewan Kompleks Kejiranan Presint 9 today.
