GERIK - A video of a commotion due to selection of candidates in Gerik has gone viral.
A source told Sinar Harian that the Tuesday incident was believed to be the result of dissatisfaction among party members on the selection of candidates ahead of nomination day on Nov 5.
During the incident, a group of party members gathered in a building to follow the announcement of candidate by the party's top leader in Kuala Lumpur.
The 1 minute 32-second video that went viral showed a tongue-lashing among members, which then escalated into a near-fight.
However, the incident was successfully brought down under down by other party members present.
Meanwhile, Gerik District Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkifli Mahmood confirmed the commotion.
However, he said, no report was lodged.
"We have not received any report over the commotion," he said.
