BANGI – Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is seen as a force of nature due to his work ethic, despite his age
Gagasan Bangsa spokesperson Aminuddin Yahaya said the nonagenarian was a great leader and he learned a lot from him.
"Tun is 97 years old, and he went to 13 meetings a day.
"I don’t know what sort of a human he is because even I feel tired after attending three meetings, but that is why he can lead the country well,” he said during Pejuang candidates announcement at Bangi Convention Centre, here, on Wednesday.
He further said that he learned from Dr Mahathir that leaders must be brave to make decisions during critical times.
He said the time of the general election was a critical moment for this nation since there was no choice for Pejuang other than to win.
"This is a critical moment for our country.
"I believe that if we are not able to win in this election, then we will be pressed even more with all the problems we have.
"So there is no other choice for us but to win,” he said.
Aminuddin also clarified that the non-organisations (NGOs) in Pejuang were not there simply to fill in the seats, but to bring victory for the party.
Earlier, Pejuang announced 121 candidates to contest in Parliament seats for the 15th General Election (GE15).
The party also said that the candidates for state assembly seats would be made public at their state level soon.
