KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) Election Director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali expressed his confidence to win Gombak in the 15th general election (GE15).
He said he was confident as he was a ‘Gombak-local’.
"This is a mature democratic process and I welcome any candidate from various parties to offer to serve the people.
"However, I am very confident (to win), God willing, the community will rate based on my record and service for three terms in Gombak.
"I am a resident of Gombak and I know all the people in Gombak because of the spirit of brotherhood that has existed for so long.
"God willing, Gombak will remain in the hands of the PN," he said during a special press conference announcing the candidate of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) party at the Malaysia International Trade Exhibition Centre (Mitec), here, today.
Also present were PN Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Bersatu Deputy President Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, Bersatu Secretary-General of Bersatu Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and several other politicians.
Azmin said regarding the selection of candidates, PN emphasises individuals who have the integrity and the ability to serve the people.
"State and federal level, we take into account all factors and the important thing is that we want these candidates to have integrity and the ability to provide service and devotion to voters in their respective areas," he said.
He added as for the manifesto, it would be analysed and presented to the public in the beginning of November.
"Today we have a meeting of the which has examined and refined the final graph of the manifesto we will launch it a day or two days before the candidate nomination day," he said.
