KUALA SELANGOR - In a no frills meet-and-greet last Friday Caretaker Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz praises the villagers of Sungai Sembilang over their resourcefulness in diversifying their earnings.
Zafrul, said that he was genuinely amazed that the villagers there — whose income mainly derived from fishing — were able to multiply their livelihood through the tourism sector.
"The villagers who once depended on fishing, now venturing into tourism by bringing tourists to the Sky Mirror (reflective water), eagle feeding as well as having homestay businesses.
"They have also formed a community by selling fresh seafood, crochet accessories and snacks among others and gained between RM400 and RM500 a month,” added Zafrul.
