GOPENG - Thirty film crew trapped in Gua Tempurung due to sudden rise in water level at the cave passageway because of heavy downpour, were successfully rescued.
It was learnt that those trapped were production crew from Singapore; who were filming a movie called ‘Bursting Point’ in the area around 4PM when the incident happened.
District Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said all of the victims were successfully rescued by the rescue team.
"The fire brigade together with the police have carried out a rescue operation at the scene of the incident.
"The trapped crew were successfully rescued and taken out of the area.
"No injuries or casualties were reported," he said.
It was also understood that the incident occurred due to sudden inundation at the water channel area of the cave with depths of approximately 1.5 metres.
