SHAH ALAM - Mobile messaging application WhatsApp Messenger is said to be experiencing an outage and caused users from all over the world to storm to other social media platforms to check on the matter.
This come following users not being able to send messages to the group chats, only one tick displayed on private messages and not being able to receive messages.
As the hashtag #Whatsapp started trending on Twitter, user Joanna Jessie said it looked like she was not the only one who scrambled to the social media platform to check if the application was down.
"I'm not the only one who goes on Twitter to check if WhatsApp was down then,” she tweeted.
Meanwhile, another user @lawrencekitema said the messages in the group chats were not able to be sent.
"Any problem with WhatsApp? Group messages not going through,” he tweeted.
However, user @AVBhutiya1 claimed there were bugs in the application that resulted in messages that could not be sent in group chats.
"Some bugs are hitting WhatsApp now as not being able to send messages to groups but able to send messages to individuals,” he said.
Checks on WhatsApp’s official account also revealed many users took it to the comment section to complain on the outages.
At press time, no statement was issued by the messaging company to address the matter.
