SHAH ALAM – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Deputy information Chief Razeef Rakimin claims Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang is not fit to be called an ulama because his characteristics do not reflect his actions.
He said this as he said Hadi had blindly labelled others as the non-believers.
He said the former Marang MP had sparked a ‘takfiri’ culture, which was a culture to claim an individual or a group as non-believers.
"He (Hadi) had spread slander toward Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders including the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"There were a few slanders thrown including the accusation that PH Chairman as a Freemason member.
"Despite being proven that he was wrong, until today he still hasn’t issued an apology and he had never publicly fixed the matter,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Razeef claimed Hadi had previously accused non-Muslim and non-Bumiputera political leaders of destroying the country’s politics and economy.
"He was among the individuals that conspired to overthrow the PH government (Sheraton Move) that was led by a Muslim.
"This government also had a Muslim majority in the Cabinet.
"Because of the movement (overthrowing the government), this country had experienced a political and economic crisis for two years due to the worst political instability in this country’s history,” he said.
He said other than the failure of the government to contain Covid-19, the economic crisis was becoming worse.
"This is due to the groups conspiring together with Hadi was busy overthrowing each other not only at the state level but even the Prime Minister’s position,” he explained.
Razeef also labelled Hadi as the worse Pas leader in the history of the party.
"He is unable to become as good as the late Fadzil Mohd Noor, the late Yusuf Abdullah Rawa as well as the late Tok Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
"His action had not reflected the party leadership that used the name of Islam,” he said.
Previously the media reported that DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook refuted Hadi’s accusation that associated the party with communism and responded by reminding the Marang Parliamentary seat incumbent who ‘may have forgotten’ that Pas worked together with DAP side by side with the party leadership that was accused of having communism ideals.
