KOTA KINABALU - Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal urges Malaysians staying abroad to register as postal voters for them to exercise their rights in the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said Malaysians abroad should seize the opportunity to change the country's political landscape because the government now could not gain the people's mandate.
"It is time for us to reset the country and move towards the future.
"Our country is not going anywhere right now.
"While the entire world is working towards recovering from the economic and social effects of Covid-19, Malaysia seems to be in a racial and religious polemic," he said.
The Semporna Parliament incumbent said there are 1.8 million Malaysians who lived abroad and he urged all to take part in determining the country's direction.
"Just because you live abroad, it doesn't mean that you can't take your part and vote.
"This is for the future of our country and the future of our children, your vote matters.
"It is important not only for today, but it is especially important for the future," he said.
