SHAH ALAM - The Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security lauds the efforts of Malaysian authorities in rescuing its citizen who was kidnapped in Kuala Lumpur by Israeli intelligence agents (Mossad).

The ministry thus offers its utmost congratulations to the Malaysian police who were able to expose Mossad members, inadvertently enabling the latter's network to be pursued.

"We firmly denounce this blatant crime committed by the Israeli occupation against one of our Palestinian people in Malaysia, and we call for the perpetrators to be held accountable and sentenced," read the ministry's statement issued today.

Earlier today, a local newspaper reported that Mossad had managed to orchestrate the abduction of a Palestinian computer engineer who was residing in the country via the use of locally trained pawn.

The victim, was allegedly beaten as he was transported to a house in the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, where he was blindfolded and tied to a chair.

He was then interrogated on matters related to the Hamas organisation and its armed wing, Qassam Brigades, the daily reported.

The Palestinian man was subsequently rescued by police.

The report also claimed that Mossad recruited locals to help the Zionist regime track down Hamas members in Malaysia, leaving no trace of its involvement.

Commenting on the report, Caretaker Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the ministry would take action if the claim that Mossad agents had entered Malaysia was true.

He said the entry of foreigners into the country was constantly monitored and action would be taken against those without valid documentation.
