KUANTAN - Pahang Barisan Nasional will ensure each candidate chosen to contest in the 15th General Election (GE15) will refer to the candidates to Election Commission (EC) to ensure they are free from corruption.
Its chief Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said this is because people have questioned the reputation of BN candidates.
"(People questioned) must the BN candidates be clean of corruption and such? Yes, we will refer each candidate to the EC," he told reporters after the Pahang State Entrepreneur Financial Financing Scheme (I-Push) handover ceremony at Kuantan City Council Hall, here, on Monday.
Rosdy said the list of Pahang BN candidates is still under discussion.
Asked if he will remain at his Jelai State seat, he said he will defend the seat if the leadership gives their permission to contest in the seat he won.
He said his majority in Jelai set since 2004 has been on the rise.
"The past records are important, the people must see the records and not listen to any slander or false promises because it has not happened," he said.
