KOTA KINABALU - The cracks between Umno's relationship with Pas has paved the way for the latter to forge an even stronger ties with Perikatan Nasional (PN), says Pribumi Bersatu president Tan Sir Muhyiddin Yassin.
He believed that it was good news for PN as the new-found camaraderie had opened up the opportunity for PN to gain more seats in the 15th General Election (GE15).
"From our point of view, Pas is one of the 'founding member'. PN and Pas has repeatedly mentioned that they remain as the most important partner in PN.
"So, it is very clear now that there is uncertainty about their relationship with Umno, but I think it paves the way for PN to be stronger and more effective winning more seats in this election.
"For me, that is a good news," he told reporters -- at a party meeting in Sabah on Tuesday night -- when asked about Umno's decision to not cooperate with Pas in GE15.
Muhyiddin also noted that he is satisfied with Sabah Pribumi Bersatu's preparation for GE15.
"I ask for the names of potential candidates from Pribumi Bersatu to be submitted to me and this will be resolved later.
"But our candidate will compete in the name of the Sabah People's Coalition (GRS) and wear the GRS logo but their victory is Bersatu's and largely PN's," he said.
