KOTA KINABALU - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob should take responsibility for what he did instead of pointing fingers to others over the dissolution of Parliament on Monday

In fact, Pribumi Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin described Ismail Sabri's latest round of blame game as "utterly irresponsible."

"I think it's very irresponsible for the Prime Minister to blame me or the Cabinet over what's happening now.

"We do not want to dispute the presented to Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah as Agong has acted at his discretion.

"It's not that he said he agreed because there was a push from anyone, what we merely asked was for elections not to be held in the nearest time.

"Who loves elections during the flood seasons? No one," he told reporters after attending a party meeting in Sabah, tonight.

Muhyiddin was responding to Ismail Sabri's statement, issued earlier today, which described the actions of the 12 ministers who sent a letter to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, begging for parliament not to be dissolved, as stoking disunity in the Cabinet.

"I actually had an agreement with Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri when he was Prime Minister, which was if the need to dissolve the parliament arises, the matter should be discussed with Perikatan Nasional (PN).

"We asked for that because we are the biggest component of the government, isn't it fair? "So, when he found out everyone is now attacking him from all directions, he said Muhyiddin is to be blamed; that it was the minister’s fault," Muhyiddin added.

He insisted that, Ismail Sabri should take responsibility for what he has done.

"He shouldn’t blame others. He should blame himself for what he has done," Muhyiddin remarked.
