TANGKAK - Malaysia will once again be laddled with the problems of kleptocracy and corruption if voters choose Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said it was important for voters not to make the wrong choice in GE15 and they should instead vote for PN.
"We need to make them realise that if they do not support the PN to form a (new) government after the GE, the disaster they will face is that the country will become much worse.
"It has become one DNA, the actions they take are power-crazy, now we rule together (a mixed government of PN and BN) to stabilise the situation, stabilise the country and the one who stabilised this government is PN.
"If we didn’t give our support, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob won’t be the Prime Minister, but unfortunately they don’t respect us at all.
"At the Central level, they take all the important positions from village heads, GLC positions and deputy ministers, they take them all,” he said.
He said this while speaking to officiate the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Pagoh Division Conference at Dewan Geliga, Gersik here on Saturday.
Muhyiddin who is also Bersatu President and Bersatu Pagoh Division Head said it was unimaginable if Umno and BN were in full power if they won GE15 which would witness kleptocracy and corruption reign again.
Meanwhile, Muhyiddin expressed his concern that the Budget 2023 presented on Friday would not be debated because the Parliament dissolution would make way for GE15.
The former prime minister said the situation would cause various impressions to be made about whether the budget was really for the people or just election goodies from the government.
"I’m worried that it would not be debated after it was presented, it’s hard to predict.
"If we don’t debate it, I can’t assume what kind of budget this is, but if it is debated until it passes and then the election is held, what will the situation be like,” he asked.
