SHAH ALAM - The seventh edition of the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC) was launched today at the Selangor International Business Summit 2022 (SIBS 2022), at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.
The convention themed 'Sustainanble Digitalisation Towards a Net-Zero Future' was officiated by Menteri Besar Selangor Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari on the first day of the convention via the Asian Smart City Conference: Mayors Summit.
SDEC is an event gathering industry leaders, academics, SMEs and players from the public and private sectors, to delve into the mechanics of existing and future smart city and digital economy frameworks and solutions.
The event welcomes mayors and representatives from different cities around the world sharing their knowledge, experiences and approached to resolve city liveability challenges through smart technologies.
A total of 11 cities will be participating in the conference which is Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, Indonesia and Netherlands.
The Net-Zero and Circular Economy Forum will take place on October 7, which gathers 24 experts from different industries and backgrounds to speal and discuss in panel sessions.
In the same ceremony, Amirudin also launched the Selangor Digital School (SDS) initiative.
The SDS is the state's first move in solving the the shortage of digital talents in Selangor as it pushes forward towards digitalisation.
It is a project that symbolises the collaboration between not just the central government and state government but also private investors, venture capital funds and startups through Penjana Capital, Sidec, The Hive, EZT Group and DMC.
The SIBS summit 2022 will be taking place from today until October 9, bringing together global brands and congregating industry players from the world under the patronage of State Government of Selangor.
