PUTRAJAYA – The Finance Ministry (MOF) confirms that the 2023 Budget will still be tabled on Friday despite the speculations that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob will have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for the dissolution of Parliament prior to that.
The matter was confirmed by the ministry's spokesman to reporters on Tuesday.
"Yes," the spokesman answered briefly.
This was said as a response to the news portal that reported the opposition anticipated Ismail Sabri to announce the dissolution of Parliament on Thursday, just a day prior to the budget being tabled.
Istana Negara previously denied reports of Ismail Sabri to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Monday for the dissolution of Parliament as what was claimed by political blogger Datuk Zaharin Mohd Yasin.
