SHAH ALAM - Free education at university level is one of the five Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) Youth offers to young people in the country for the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its Youth Leader Na'im Brundage said he was confident that the Federal Government and the Higher Education Ministry had sufficient resources to make it possible.

In addition, his party was ready to offer an equal pay act, a 30 per cent quota for young people in Parliament, the National Assembly and the State Legislative Assembly (DUN), the Anti-Democracy Act and the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes.

"The time has come for Malaysia to follow the steps of developed countries that have introduced acts in detail to prevent any form of wage discrimination in the workplace whether it involves race, religion, gender and disabilities.

"We will also fight for a 30 per cent quota for young people at every state, parliament and national assembly level to ensure that the national administration reflects more of the youth demographic," he said at a press conference after the PBM Youth Movement conference here on Saturday.

He also said that the enactment of the Anti-Discrimination Act is necessary to ensure that discrimination can be reduced in every aspect of life so that a Malaysian nation can be formed.

He added that his party would fight for the amendment of the law to legalise the use of cannabis for medical purposes after they had collected complaints from chronic disease patients.

"We are confident that with these five offers PBM can attract more support from the youth of the country," he said.

Commenting further on the support of Undi18, he said, it was a difficult task for the party, but his party was optimistic to get the support of young people.

"Among our initiatives are the five offers as I mentioned earlier besides we always fight for issues involving the young people of the country where they are currently facing various problems such as unemployment, unfair wages, discrimination and so on.

"Therefore, we are confident that we can fight for the issue of young people apart from raising their voices and thus gaining support from them during GE15 later," he explained.

Meanwhile, he said, PBM was ready to face GE15 expected to be held at any time.

"Actually, we have started working to face the election since the establishment of PBM other than appointing an election director and already have a committee to face GE15.

"At the PBM level we also want to help become the backbone of the party's election machinery to boost the structuring of the party's youth either at the state or divisional level," he said.
