PUTRAJAYA - The Ministry of Education (MOE) today announced the appointment of Datuk Pkharuddin Ghazali as the 19th Director-General of Education, effective Sept 23.
Pkharuddin, 59, who was previously Deputy Director-General of Education (Policy and Curriculum Sector) replaces Datin Seri Nor Zamani Abdol Hamid who retired on July 29.
According to MOE, Pkharuddin has served in various organisations of the ministry during his 33 years of service, including as Assistant Director of the Assessment and Examination Sector at the Examination Board and principal at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Taman Semarak, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
"We are confident that Pkharuddin is able to shoulder the responsibility as the leader of education services and continue driving education transformation to improve the quality of education,” the MOE said in a statement today. - BERNAMA
