MELAKA - The Narcotics division of Melaka police headquarters disposed drugs worth RM80,724.47 that were seized during 2,151 cases from 2004 to 2022.
Melaka police chief Datuk Zainol Samah said among drugs disposed of were heroin (913.87 grammes), monoacetylmorphines (2.7 grammes), cannabis (2,265 grammes), methamphetamine (1,388 grammes), ketamin (8 grammes), mitragynine (327,330 litres), mitragynine (49,081 grammes), nimetazepam (32 grammes) and etizolam (71.81 grammes).
"In efforts to secure the quality of the environment, Melaka police used the services of Kualiti Alam Sdn Bhd to dispose of the drugs because the company had the equipment and expertise to carry out scheduled disposal procedures at the Ladang Tanah Merah A3 Division, Bukit Pelandok, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.
"All court cases involving the drugs have been completed and the drugs were ordered to be disposed of," he said in a statement, here tonight.
