SHAH ALAM - The Pahang government has named one of its main streets in Temerloh - Wagga Wagga street as both Temerloh and Wagga Wagga town in Australia strengthen their bond as sister cities.
The state's Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation and Commodities Datuk Sri Sharkar Shamsuddin said they thank Wagga Wagga Municipal Council for giving them naming one of the streets Temerloh Avenue.
"Today we repay the appreciation by officially naming one of the main streets in Temerloh town as Wagga Wagga," he was quoted in Pahang Media.
He said both towns have had a relationship since 1965.
"We are thankful for the support and assistance given to the residents of Temerloh by Wagga Wagga since we were young," he added.
Temerloh is located in the centre of Pahang, and 130 km from Kuala Lumpur while Wagga Wagga is located in New South Wales.
