SHAH ALAM - Winner of the OOTD Challenge held during the first skateboarding festival, Grindbaru 8 receives a special prize, a collector's edition Sinar Daily deck during a prize-giving session at the Karangkraf Media Group Headquarters today.
Nur Tia Adelisa Aisya Tajul Fuad Najrul, 7, is the lucky winner of the challenge held by Sinar Daily as the official media partner of the skateboarding festival held at Extreme Park, Seksyen 13, Selangor on Sept 10.
The booth set up at the event received great response from the visitors as they engaged and took pictures there for the OOTD Challenge in hopes of winning Sinar Daily’s very own custom-made deck.
Tia expressed her excitement in winning the OOTD Challenge.
"I am very happy to win this because I was hoping to get my hands on the exclusive deck. Thank you, Sinar Daily,” she said after the prize-giving.
She said she was elated to find out she was the winner, when the announcement was made through Sinar Daily's Instagram account last week.
When asked about her opinion of the exclusive deck, she tried the 7.5 inch deck right away and mentioned that she loved its colour because red is her favourite colour, being a big fan of Spiderman.
Meanwhile, her mother, Nur Hawa Zainal Abidin shared that Tia has been introduced to skateboarding about a year ago by her husband as they had free time during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The 38-year-old said her daughter had always been the bravest and most passionate about skateboarding among her children, challenging herself to try many tricks despite her young age.
She said she was also surprised to find out that her daughter won the challenge as she had seen other pictures submitted by other participants. It never crossed her mind that Tia would be chosen as the winner.
Nevertheless, she said she was happy for her daughter and thanked Sinar Daily for their encouragement to the young kids in skateboarding.
"I am so happy for her and I think this sort of challenge is very good because you can encourage more kids to skateboard and introduce this sport among the youth.
"Thanks to Sinar Daily for being so supportive and the encouragement you give to the youngsters. I think the skateboard deck is the coolest, the design and colour is beautiful,” she added.
