KUALA LUMPUR - Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says his party is willing to wade through floods to campaign for elections if the Parliament is dissolved during the monsoon season end of this year.
Zahid said that all parties were waiting for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to announce the date.
"We know there are constraints as by year-end, there will be floods, heavy rain but if the prime minister dissolves the Parliament, we are willing to wade through floods to campaign.
"During the floods, BN youth, Wanita, Puteri will came down more than other parties.
"Willing to come down? Willing to campaign during floods? Willing to campaign during heavy rains? Willing to campaign during typhoons? I want to see who is willing?" said Zahid during his speech at the launch of the BN Youth machinery at the Titiwangsa Stadium here, today.
Chants to dissolve the Parliament echoed through the stadium.
Zahid also said more young people will be selected as candidates in the 15th general elections (GE15).
"We have proven it in the Malacca and Johor state elections. So in GE15, God willing, more young people will be featured.
"We leave it to the BN election director to negotiate well to ensure that many young people are featured," he said.
