SHAH ALAM – Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang sees the Pakatan Harapan (PH)’s approach as pragmatic and secular while ruling the country, which makes the coalition weak in combating corruption and misconduct issues.

He said the situation caused the PH’s leadership to be disorganised especially when it comes to the issue of the Prime Minister’s post.

"In fact, they also made selective actions up to the point that some of them managed to cut their court process halfway.

"For some, it looks like the media was the judge and beyond,” he said in a Facebook post which explained why the party refused to form political cooperation with PH.

Hadi said Pas was not ready to join the big tent with PH as they were not convinced that the coalition would be able to curb the misconduct and corruption.

The Marang MP said Pas’ action who would not cooperate with PH was due to the cooperation was seen to bring greater political harm which could harm the country’s important pillars.

He said PH was seen to potentially bring negative impact compared to Barisan Nasional (BN) government prior to this.

"The situation was felt throughout when PH ruled the federal government, even though it was a short-period compared to BN who held the post for a long time until it was rejected by the people in the 14th General Election (GE14) because of corruption and misconduct,” he said.

The party’s experience in working with multiple component parties in PH, he said, had given them enough experience to mature from the party to recognise them closely and clearly.

He also said Pas had the experience of working with other parties starting from before and after the independence whether it was far left or right.

"Pas had never once violated the agreement set and could not be dragged out of its track.

"However, Pas is firm in its struggles and a few parties that became its fragments are lost in history.

"Pas never lost from its members, followers and leaders even though multiple times it had lost seats and states won," he said.
