BANGKOK - Two soldiers were killed while one got injured in a shooting at the Royal Thai Army War College in the Dusit district of Bangkok, today.
In a statement, army deputy spokesman Col Sirichan Ngathong said 59-year old sergeant major Yongyut Mungkornkim, a clerk at the Royal Thai Army War College walked into the administration office and shot three people at around 8.45 am (local time) today.
"The cause and motivation for the incident are under investigation,” she said.
Sirichan said the initial investigation found the man had a history of mental health issues.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting. However, he was arrested at around 10 am.
Two soldiers - Sergeant Major Nopparat Intarasunthorn and Sergeant Major Prakarn Sinsong - were killed in the incident while Sergeant Major Youngyuth Panyanuwat who was wounded was rushed to hospital for further treatment. - Bernama
