PUTRAJAYA - MySejahtera has recorded 4,500 organ donation pledges a one week after their launch, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said.

"Become an organ donor, pledge today and save lives," he wrote in his Twitter page.
The government launched the new feature in the mobile application on Sept 6 to make it easier to register as organ donors.
Malaysia was categorised as one of the 10 countries with the lowest transplant rates in the world for 2021 with 2.84 transplants per one million population according to Global Observatory on Donation and Transplantation.
10,442 patients in Malaysia are still on a waiting list, however only 2,700 transplant surgeries involved organ donors since 1975.
