KUALA LUMPUR- PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli has slammed Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) for 'crying' over former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor while the rakyat is struggling with inflation.
Both Najib and Rosmah were found guilty for money laundering.
"We are in the middle of economic crises. People are facing inflation and our currency is dropping but Umno is crying over Najib and
Rosmah.
"But they will need to save their tears for another Umno President Zahid Hamidi," he said during his speech at the 'Rapat Mega Keadilan' programme in Taman Melawati, here.
While it is important to be ready for the 15th General Election (GE15), he reminded the rakyat not to forget that the country might be facing the worst flood catastrophe in December.
"It is true that we need to be ready for GE15 but let's not forget that the country will see the worst flood soon," he said, adding that PKR will prepare machinery not only for the election but to help flood victims during the monsoon season.
Commenting further, he said measures to curb floods could have been taken care off if Umno was being responsible.
"A responsible leader would know that this is not the time to think about politics.
"I would say the same thing to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim if he is the prime minister," he added.
In his speech, Rafizi said the people would punish Umno if they pushed elections during the monsoon season.
"The faster you push for elections, the closer we are to the monsoon season, the brighter the chance for PKR to win," he said.
