KUALA LUMPUR - PKR is ready to defeat Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the 15th General Election (GE15) by garnering the votes of first-time voters with the help of its youth's wing.
PKR Youth president Adam Adli said its would act as the party's sub-component to remind the people that the youth played an important role in shaping the political landscape in the country.
"I would like to remind the people that there is research that says more than 70 per cent of the young people in the country are not interested in politics.
"(However) 80 percent of the group said that they are ready to vote despite not having confidence in the political institutions," he said during his speech at the 'Rapat Mega Keadilan' programme here today.
Commenting further, he said PKR youth remains the prominent figure in shaping a better political landscape among youth in the country.
"Will we (PKR youth) be able to redeem ourselves in the upcoming election, especially in attracting the first-time voters and the young voters?," he said.
This, he said, was also a role of every party to come together to change the current political landscape in Malaysia.
"Those so-called fence-sitters are not confident with the political institutions in the country as they are tired of the games of the political actors.
"So, when we are entering the GE15, we are more confident compared to the previous 22 months which we did not even have Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the cabinet but today, we bring clearer visions in which we will get rid of corruption, bring back the justice and resume the delayed reforms," he said.
As a party with integrity, he said, PKR would bring back the confidence of the voters for GE15.
