SHAH ALAM - It is not as simple for the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) to join Pakatan Harapan (PH) because the coalition needs to get the agreement from the four component parties prior to it.

Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Chief Adam Adli Abdul Halim said the party led by Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman should not have announced the number of seats to be contested by them as soon as they stated their intentions of joining PH.

"That is not how it should be done, entering and announcing how many seats to contest.

"That is awkward honestly, he did not need to start like that.

"He needed to begin with other agreements first then only he can discuss about seats (to be contested)," he told Sinar Harian on Wednesday.

Syed Saddiq on Tuesday said Muda had agreed to join PH as a component party in the coalition to face the 15th General Election (GE15).

He said Muda had aimed to contest 15 Parliament seats in the upcoming GE15.

Adam said Muda's wishes needed to go through the PH Presidential Council and the coalition had to thoroughly look at the thoughts of grassroots members prior to it.
