ALOR SETAR - The Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) will hold a discussion with the Public Service Department (PSD) on the proposal to increase the service grade for the manager position of the Rural Community Centres (PKD) under the ministry.
Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said at present, PKD managers are given Grade N19 on a one-year contract basis and the ministry views the grade as needing to be raised based on their role and experience.
He said, the ministry also suggested that PKD managers be given a long-term service contract compared to the current contract.
"The current grade is based on Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) qualification. We will discuss this matter with the PSD. We also want to carry out a study to extend the contract of PKD manager,” he told reporters after meeting PKD managers from across the nation today.
Currently, there are 180 PKD managers nationwide. - BERNAMA
