SHAH ALAM - DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook is ready to face Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar in defending his Seremban Parliament seat at the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said as a DAP leader, he was not afraid to face any possibilities and challenges in the political struggles.
"The first is the democratic rights for each individual to compete in any area.
"I am still prepared to defend my Seremban Parliament seat in GE15 even though I would face KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) or whoever is appointed as a candidate by the opposing party.
"Let the public and the voters in Seremban Parliament assess and decide whether I would continue to be qualified in representing the needs and voices of them in Dewan Rakyat," he said in a broadcast on his Facebook on Monday.
On Sunday, the media reported that Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin admitted that he would not compete in Rembau in the upcoming election as Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan wished to compete in the constituency.
At the same time, Loke said the competition to grab Seremban Parliament seat was expected to become intense in the upcoming election.
"KJ represents a political figure of high calibre and is sure to be among the stronger contender no matter where he is competing.
"If it is true he will compete in the Seremban Parliament, then the competition will be intense and would become among the 'hottest' seat in GE15.
