PUTRAJAYA - Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin refused to comment on allegations that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's name is not in the Malaysian Prison Department's database.
"Before this, did anyone know about the database? If they didn't know, how could there be an allegation?
"If it’s just allegations or unverified letters, don't listen (to them)," he said during the Malaysia Premium Visa Programme (PVIP) press conference, at his ministry on Thursday.
He said this when asked about the claims made by social media users that Najib’s details, who was serving a 12-year prison sentence, is not in the Prison Department's database.
Najib, who was also the Pekan MP, had to serve 12 years in prison and a fine of RM210 million for misappropriating RM42 million of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.
He was sent to Kajang Prison on August 23.
