SHAH ALAM - Sinar Karangkraf has pledged for the "Malaysia Berintergriti" campaign in conjunction with the Merdeka month.
The campaign which was held today at Sinar Karangkraf has attracted more than 100 people who participated in various activities organised by the company.
Among the activities were aerobic session, Merdeka convoy, face painting for children as well as adults and making Bubur Asyura.
There was also free merdeka kits provided with every purchase of the Sinar Harian newspaper as well as food and drink stalls at the event.
The highlight of the day was the mini Merdeka convoy which involved over 30 participants with motorcycles decorated with the Jalur Gemilang making its way across Jalan Renggam, here.
The convoy flag off was officiated by Sinar Karangkraf Group chief executive officer (CEO) Farah Hussamuddin, its deputy chairman Datuk Muhammad Nasir Hamzah, Rasuah Busters CEO Nurhayati Nordin and Sinar Daily editor Tasnim Lokman.
The event which was organised in collaboration with Mitsubishi MN Wheels also saw three of the brand's Triton four-wheel-drive participating in the convoy.
Its marketing executive Zuhaili Zain expressed gratitude over the second collaboration with Sinar Karangkraf.
"Previously, we worked together by helping the flood victims last year in Kuala Selangor.
"It is great to work with Sinar Karangkraf in our corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes and I am looking forward to more collaborations," he told Sinar Daily.
Meanwhile, Nasir in his speech during the event said Malaysia was not leading towards a truly independent county as corruption was still in place.
"We have lost billions (of ringgit) over the past years due to corruption. We could have used the money in various ways such as building hospitals, schools or provide free education for the people," he said.
He also hoped that the country could be reborn as a corruption-free nation.
