SERDANG - Perikatan Nasional President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has welcomed younger candidates to contest for the prime minister's post.
"We know Malaysians want new faces and young candidates in high positions or to lead the country.
"I am happy to say that I will support and I am ready to welcome young candidates," he said during the coalition's closing ceremony at MAEPS, here.
He also said PN is ready to go to battle with Barisan Nasional in the coming general elections, adding that the convention gives the confidence that it has the best offer for Malaysians.
"Our concern is for the rakyat, nation and integrity. These are the main core of PN," he said.
Hadi talks on unity
Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang at his closing speech that was also attended by Gerakan spoke on unity.
"What’s important is to strengthen (nation's) unity and we need to tolerate our differences," he said, here.
He urged people to use simple words to ensure everyone understands.
Hadi added ministers from PN states in Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sabah have done well despite being in the federal government in just two years ago in 2020.
"At least we can prove our integrity through our Cabinet ministers in the ruling government now and we will continue to strengthen integrity and reject the previous weakness,” Hadi added.
Hadi came under fire recently for saying the non-Muslims and non-Bumiputra in the country are the root cause of corruption in the country.
