SERDANG - Perikatan Nasional (PN) stresses that it is unfair for any political party to question the independence of the judiciary or make threats against judges if their leaders are sentenced.
PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said political parties should comply with the court's decision.
"It is not fair for any political party to question the independence of the judiciary, or threaten the judges when their leaders are sentenced.
"Obey the court's decision," he said while officiating the 2022 PN Convention and the 2nd PN Anniversary celebration at the Serdang Malaysia Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) on Saturday.
The Pagoh MP also added that it was the principle of the coalition to uphold the independence of the judiciary and the rule of law following with the Federal Constitution and the Rukun Negara principles.
Commenting further, Muhyiddin also said there was a blurred dividing line between political funding and corruption.
Due to that, Muhyiddin believed that a Political Funding Act should be enacted to create a political culture that was free of corruption and integrity.
He said a committee at the PN level could conduct a study on this proposal in more detail before submitting it to the government.
He also wanted corruption-free political transformation and integrity to be the main agenda of PN.
"Further discussion in this convention and recommendations submitted to be examined by the PN Supreme Council and follow-up action is taken," he said.
