Norizan Khazali new Kedah state secretary

ALOR SETAR - Datuk Norizan Khazali has been appointed the new state secretary of Kedah effective today.

Norizan, 56, succeeds Datuk Paduka Ammar Shaikh Mahmood Naim who retired yesterday.

The Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, handed over the instruments of appointment at the Istana Anak Bukit here.

Norizan, who holds a Master of Science (Land Administration and Development), was the state deputy secretary (Development).

He started his career as a state administrative officer in 1991 and has 17 years of experience in land administration.

Norizan was responsible for drafting the Kedah Development Transformation Plan in 2013 and the Kedah Development Plan 2035 while working at the State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN).

Together with the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), he was also responsible for the development of Kedah Rubber City (KRC), Bukit Kayu Hitam Special Border Economic Zone (SBEZ), Kedah Aerotropolis, Kedah Science and Technology Park (KSTP) as well as Northern Corridor Highway (NCH). - BERNAMA
