KUALA LUMPUR - The Merdeka Quartet - comprising four Cabinet Ministers representing the various races in the country - will appear in a special talk show to discuss issues on unity and patriotism in conjunction with the 2022 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations.
They are Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who is also the 2022 HKHM Main Committee chairman, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
They will be special guests on the Merdeka65 show which will be broadcast on the Astro Awani news channel at 8.30 pm this Wednesday.
Director of Media and Corporate Communications at the Department of Information, which serves as the 2022 HKHM Media and Publicity Secretariat, Datuk E. Sivabalan said the discussion by the Merdeka Quartet is expected to revolve around the spirit of the Malaysian Family (Keluarga Malaysia) and the principles of Rukun Negara.
"The focus is on the importance of all citizens joining hands to celebrate National Day and Malaysia Day to ensure togetherness in the spirit of the Malaysian Family,” he told Bernama and called on Malaysians to watch the talk show on the Astro Awani news channel this Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Sivabalan also invited the Malaysian Family to bring along their family members to Dataran Merdeka this Aug 31 to further enliven the National Day celebration with programmes to start at 7 am. - BERNAMA
