KUALA LUMPUR - Preparations for this year's National Day celebration at Dataran Merdeka, here, are going smoothly and according to schedule.
Bernama today observed that work to install tents, stage chairs, a giant screen, multi-level terrace chairs and restoration work around the area where the celebration will be held were moving at a good pace.
A Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) spokesman said all the preparation work started two weeks ago.
"Most of the technical work are almost completed including at the main stage while installation of the giant screen is expected to be completed in two days,” he said.
Earlier, the Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) stated that three main activities would be held to heighten the National Month celebration this year including its launching and hoisting of the Jalur Gemilang on July 30 in Putrajaya, the National Day celebration on Aug 31 at Dataran Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebration on Sept 16 in Melaka.
