"For this activity, participants will be taken to the release point at a height of 105 metres of the tower before using a safety harness. For the Dropzone activity, participants can enjoy the view of the city (Alor Setar) while being suspended in the air before descending on the tower square.

"Meanwhile, for Snap-Sky, participants can walk and sit on the platform while taking pictures. They do not need to worry because the safety aspect is very important and a total of 10 trained people from the Kedah Climbing Sports Association will take care of their safety," she said after the opening ceremony of Dropzone & Snap-Sky at Menara Alor Setar here today.

She said people who are interested in trying this activity can come and buy tickets at the tower's counter which operates from 10 am to 10 pm.

"Participants can choose to do this activity in the mornings or nights but this will depend on weather conditions. For example, the activity will not go on for safety reasons if it rains. Those who wish to try these activities also must be over 90 centimetres tall (2 feet, 9 inches).

"We are targetting as many as 150 people to try these extreme sports every month. This is the time for those out there to come and try for themselves and test their mental and physical abilities as well as overcome their feelings of dread and fear," she added. - BERNAMA
