PETALING JAYA - Air Selangor has announced water cuts in 397 areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur from 10am today due to a accident at a highway causing chemical pollution in Pahang’s Sungai Semantan.
In a statement, it said the accident at Km75.9 of the Karak-Bentong highway causing authorities to stop operations of its Langat 2 water treatment plant at 4.30am.
It involves 172 areas in Kuala Lumpur, 222 in Hulu Langat, and three in Petaling. It further said water supply will resume in stages from 3.30pm today.
As an alternative, water tankers will channel supply to critical areas, it further said.
