SEREMBAN - Barisan Nasional will announce next week if Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) would be allowed to join the coalition in facing the 15th General Election (GE15).
BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the announcement will be made after BN Supreme Council meeting next week after seeking consensus from coalition members.
"BN is not decided by one person, or one party, and the decision must be made in consensus. All parties or component parties in BN must agree, only then it can be done.
"Wait until the meeting," he said when met by reporters at Wisma Negeri here, today.
Previously, the media reported that PBM sent an official application to BN. BN has not yet responded to the application.
In the meantime, Mohamad or commonly known as Tok Mat had said PBM president-designate Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin had met him early last month to convey the wish of PBM to join BN.
"I have asked her to write a letter to the BN Chairman so that this matter can be brought up and considered during BN's meet.
"Apart from PBM, there are also several other parties who have expressed their desire to join BN," he said.
Due to that, the matter will be deliberated with BN members.
"The thing about support is that it has been around for a long time, like the Friends of BN, some have been members for 30 years and to be a member of BN you must get unanimous approval.
"Sometimes that makes it difficult for BN to make a decision because each party has its own interests," he said.
